Assessment for NDIS

Psychological Functional Capacity Assessment (PFCA)

What assessments will we do?

This is a great question and hard to answer, as it’s tailored to you But some common ones we usually do are

  • An assessment specific to your presentation/ disability or diagnosis

  • Functional questionnaire e.g. WHODAS/ LSP-16

  • Skills specific assessment Others that may further explain the impact of your diagnosis

What will we talk about?

  • The impact of your disability on day to day life

  • How NDIS funding might help with getting you the right supports

  • What things you might find difficult as a result of your disability

  • Talking about Psychological skills like

    • Organising

    • Planning

    • Learning

    • Memory and Attention

    • Emotional regulation

Additional information:

I will usually ask for any other assessments or contribution from your support team or other allied health members as it helps not to double up on assessments or so you don’t have to explain your entire background over and over again

What is it?

This is an assessment that can support your application to the NDIS to access support. This will focus on the psychological, functional impact of your disability on your day to day life. Whilst it’s not a guarantee for funding, an assessment from a Registered Psychologist can be helpful.
